Report of Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Supply Chain Service Association:

Cross Border Summit 2017 was successfully held on 21-22th April 2017 in Shekou district, Shenzhen. It gathered over 200 entrepreneur, CEO and top managers in cross-border e-commerce field from 32 countries, sharing related knowledge and experience in cross-border e-commerce industry chain, and discussing and learning how to be competitive in e-commerce market. As the supporting unit of the summit, Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Supply Chain Service Association joined the event, represented by the Executive Secretary General  Ms.Sonia Kwork together with her 4 colleagues.

 

This two-day conference had two themes, with the firstday primarily covering importing and selling in China. With anamazing lineup ofspeakers including Qianhai Government Authority representative Kris Wang,Wechat marketing expert Matthew Brennan from China Channel, and WinstonSterzel, China’s first and most famous Youtube video blogger.The first dayfocused on non-Chinese seeking to grow and expand their reach in the Chinamarket. As there was a lot of demand for more export e-commerce, asecond lineupof speakers was also available for those participants, which included hosting afireside chat with Jon Myers, CEO of AMZ Tracker, a popular Amazon sellersoftware product and other e-commerce experts sharing their tactics.

 

The second day focused on the hot topic ofexport B2C(business-to-consumer) e-commerce, which is dominated by Amazon FBA.Speakersdiscussed diversifying from the Amazon platform via new andgrowingmarketplaces, as well as social media strategies and brand-buildingtactics.Speakers included Noah Herschman a senior architect from Microsoft,ManuelBecvar from Import Dojo, and a host of veteran Amazon FBA sellers sharingreallife business stories and case studies.

 

The organizer, Michael Michelini, calls this year'sevent a huge success, stating: "The world continues to grow globally. Asevery business is required to be international from day one, the knowledge gapbetween China and overseas must be shortened. There is still a huge opportunityfor those business owners who can master both sides of theborder, especiallythat border between China and the international market.
